Obituary for Edith Stegall

Edith Maxine Stegall, 88, of Joy, IL, passed away Wed., June 1, 2016, at Genesis Senior Living in Aledo.
Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Sun., June 5, at Bewley Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Aledo. Burial will be in the Rock Island Arsenal National Cemetery.

She was born Aug. 3, 1927, in New Boston, IL, the daughter of Earl and Velma Fowler King. She married Robert E. Stegall on Dec. 11, 1947, at North Henderson, IL.
She helped her husband farm and in the family trucking business in Mercer County. She was a member of the Mercer County Hospital Auxilliary where she worked at the gift shop and the Happy Hour Club in Joy.
Those left to honor her memory include, her sons, Daniel (Kathryn) Stegall of Coal Valley, Marlin Stegall and Jeannie of Aledo, Hewitt Stegall and Carolyn of Monmouth, and Rodney (Trudy) Stegall of Joy; daughter Thelma (James) Rankin; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brothers, Warren King of Aledo, Wayne (Martha) King of Aledo, Aubrey (Martha) King of New Boston, one sister Audrey (Jim) Giberson of New London, IA; and a brother and sister-in-law, Lowell and Louise of Moberly, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, Muriel and three brothers, Kenny, Keith and Alfred.
