Obituary for Lane McCaw

Lane Clark McCaw, 88, of Monmouth, formerly of Keithsburg, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at his home in Monmouth.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, at First Christian Church in Keithsburg. Burial will follow at Greenmound Cemetery. Bewley Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Aledo, is caring for the arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Lane McCaw Memorial Fund. Online condolences may be left at:
He was born June 16, 1926, in rural Keithsburg, Illinois, the son of Alden Lee and Bessie Helen Endicott McCaw. He married Betty Jane Staats on August 9, 1947, in Keithsburg.
He was a carpenter, draftsman, tool and die maker, insurance sales man and ran McCaw’s Sundries in Keithsburg. He was also a caretaker at Village Green Apartments in Keithsburg for 15 years. He loved woodworking.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Betty; one son, Daniel Lane McCaw; two daughters, Cherie (Gary) Mehle of Monmouth, Jennifer (Kim) Weeks; ten grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and brother-in-law, Imogene and Dwight Welch in 2014.
