Lenore Kistler, 94, Silvis, formerly of Aledo, IL and Morrison, IL., passed away on Fri., Sept. 16, 2016 at The Light House in Silvis.

Services are 11:00 AM Tues., Sept. 20, 2016, at the First Baptist Church, Aledo. Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Mon., Sept. 19, 2016, at Bewley Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Aledo. Burial will be in the Aledo Cemetery.

Mary Lenore Sherrard was born Dec. 18, 1921, in Orion, IL, the daughter of Glenn Sherrard and Florence A. Kerr.

She married Earl Kistler on Jun. 30, 1946, in Cambridge, IL.

She was a music educator and co-founder of Aledo Public Preschool.

She served her church as organist, pianist and choir director for more than 50 years. She was a cub scout and girl scout leader. She was Valedictorian for her senior class at Cambridge High School.
She loved traveling, photography, bird watching and crafts.

Lenore received an award for faithful, lifelong blood donation to the American Red Cross.

Those left to honor her memory include children, Thomas (Dorothy) Kistler, Swansea, IL, Timothy (Cynda) Kistler, Morrison, IL, Nancy (Jim) Crawford, Rock Island, IL; grandsons, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Kistler, South Carolina, Adam Kistler, Bolingbrook, IL, Matthew (Diane) Kistler, Milwaukee, WI; great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Zachary, Emma and Adriana, Abigail and Isabelle; Sisters Lois Brunner, Golden CO., and Dorothy Faunce, Pleasant Hill, TN.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband in 2010.
