Rose C. “Rosie” Kinyon, 87, of Wapello, Ia, formerly of New Boston, Il, passed away Friday, May 5, 2017, at home in Wapello.

Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 21, at the New Boston United Methodist Church. A time of food and fellowship will follow at the church.

Rosie was born June 10, 1929, in Chicago, Il, the daughter of Dominick and Josephine Schiro Alongi. She married Eugene F. Kinyon on December 27, 1951, in Chicago.

Rosie was a homemaker and mother of five. In her free time she enjoyed playing cards and Bingo.

Those left to honor her memory include sons, Michael (Susan) Kinyon of Rolling Meadows, Il and Jon (Rick Vandersnick) Kinyon of Palatine, Il; daughters, JoAnn (James) Geary of Huntley, Il and Susan (David) Heater of Wapello, Ia; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Eugene F. Kinyon, Jr. and three brothers, Joseph, John and Anthony Alongi.
