Arthur Joseph Davis, 83, of Muscatine, died Friday, May 8, 2009, at the Aledo Rehabilitation and Health Center in Aledo. Private family services are planned for a later date. He was born April 21, 1926, in Des Moines, the son of Arthur and Lucille Chiconella Davis. He graduated from Fort Dodge High School and attended Fort Dodge Junior College and Drake University. He enlisted into the Unites States Navy in April, 1944, and was honorably discharged in September, 1951. He was an Aviation Electronics Technician. He married Janet K. Barber on June 30, 1961, in Fort Dodge. He was the superintendent of Parks and Forestry of Fort Dodge from 1965 to 1977. After moving to Muscatine he operated a coin and antique shop for several years. He loved talking to people, art and music. He is survived by his wife, Janet; his children, Joseph and Sarah (Barton) Davis, Jeffeny Metz, Ethan Davis, Jennifer Sajak and Sarah and Chip Farris; grandchildren, Arlo Davis, Kourtnay Bishop, and Zakary Freyermuth; and sisters-in-law, Betty (Lyle) Hubbard and Lynn Amplo.
