James (Jim) Franklin Lough, Sr. passed away Saturday, August 24, 2013, at All American Care in Muscatine. Per Jim’s request there will be no services. Jeffrey Nichols Life Tribute Funeral & Memorial Services is taking care of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Jim's name to All American Care, 2002 Cedar St., Muscatine, IA. 52761. Jim was born March 6, 1933, in Lomax, IL, the son of Douglas and Elta Clayton Lough. He married Belle Rose Wagner April 29, 1956. They were later divorced. He married Connie Naber July 3, 1977, in Muscatine, IA. Jim served in United States Navy from 1952 - 1956. He served during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in San Diego, CA and Guam. After his service in the Navy he worked for Morgan Asphalt Company for 20 years as Plant Manager. He then worked at Star-Kist in Muscatine until his retirement. After his retirement he was involved with his wife in managing the Muscatine Humane Society. He also delivered the Muscatine Journal and Quad City Times for 13 years. In his spare time he loved being on the Mississippi River fishing. He enjoyed talking on his CB Radio. TO his "CB" friends he was known as the "Road Runner". He liked playing Euchre and Cribbage at Willie's Pool Hall, Friday Night Bowling, and watching John Wayne movies with his beloved Boston Terriers. Jim is survived by his wife Connie and seven children, adopted daughter Sherri Lough Peterson and her significant other Bryan Doerres of Muscatine, Bruce and wife Susan of Letts, Jim Jr. and wife Tina of Fruitland, Sandy Lough Naber and significant other Mark Wiederholt of Platteville WI, Phillip and wife Tammy of Newville, PA, Elizabeth Lough and significant other Rory Ball, Kyle and wife Wendy of Fredonia; 17 grandchildren; and 31 great grandchildren and one sister Doris Kelly of Lowell, Ark. He was preceded in death by his parents Douglas and Elta, one sister Charolette Schooneover and one brother Alfred Lough.
