Lloyd M. Wellington, 86, of Muscatine, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011, at Lutheran Homes.
Lloyd was born June 27, 1925, in Otsego, MI, the son of Donald Oscar and Edith Rachel Davis Wellington. He married Norma Schaer in Santa Cruz, CA, on Nov. 22, 1968.
He was a veteran having served in the United States Army during WWII. He was a member of the American Legion.
He attended New Hope United Methodist Church. He retired as a painting contractor and had also owned two service stations. He was a sports enthusiast and loved traveling and writing poetry.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Norma; son, Randall Wellington of Columbus Jct.; daughters, Judy Evans of Columbus Jct., Rhonda Welsch of Letts and Lisa Fry of Muscatine; step-sons, Robert Beutler of Wilton and Stephen Beutler of Minot, ND; sister, Gloria Gilson of Athens, MI; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters, Connie Mosteller and Sharon Burhop, and four brothers.
Memorials may be made to the Lloyd Wellington Memorial Fund.
