Marlene E. Garrison, 69, of Muscatine, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2013, at her home.


Life tribute services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Muscatine Baptist Chapel. A time of food and fellowship will follow the service in the church hall. Jeffrey S. Nichols Life Tribute Funeral and Memorial Services, Muscatine is caring for the arrangements. Marlene suggested memorials to Iowa Hospice, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Muscatine Baptist Chapel. She was born May 27, 1943, in Dixon, IL, the daughter of Merrill L. and Marey Faley Gilbert. She married Ellis Michael Noggle in 1962. They later divorced. She married Vester Garrison on May 24, 1993, in Wilton.


She retired in 2012 as a certified medical aide at Bickford Cottage.


She enjoyed reading, gardening and painting. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She had a great sense of humor and loved to tell jokes.


Those left to honor her memory include sons, Tandy (Cindy) Noggle of Wilton, Shon Noggle of Council Bluffs and Tory (Michele) Noggle of San Antonio, TX; daughters, Michele Davis-Maatah of Melrose Park, IL and Shay Webb of Hannibal, MO; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald (Beverly) Gilbert of Clearwater, FL; sisters, Linda (James) Baker of St. George, UT and Emma (Bob) Gill of Waynesville, MO; and several step-children.


She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Vester in 2002, one great-granddaughter Danielle Rose Noggle, one brother John Lyle Gilbert and one sister Sharon Wright.
