Richard W. “Chuck” McGill, 70, of Muscatine, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2014, at All American Care in Muscatine.
Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 2, at the Island Cemetery. Military honors will be offered by the combined squads of the VFW Post #1565 and American Legion Post #27. A time of food and fellowship will follow the service at the American Legion Post #27.
Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, at the American Legion Post #27. Nichols Life Tribute Funeral and Memorial Services, Muscatine, is caring for Chuck’s family and arrangements.

Chuck was born April 26, 1944, the son of Clifford L. and Pearl L. Brown McGill. He married Judy Vetter on July 2, 1966, in Aledo, Illinois. They were later divorced.
He was a Vietnam War veteran of the United States Navy.
He worked as a shear operator at HON for many years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #27 and past member of the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed Nascar, Harley Davidsons and fishing.
Those left to honor his memory include his sons, Casey (Ginger) McGill of Galena, IL, Joe (Marsha) McGill of Muscatine, and Shane McGill and his fiancé, Erica Smith of New London, CT; grandchildren, Ashlea (Kenneth) Campbell, Amanda McGill, Alicia McGill, Allison McGill, Chelsea McGill, Dylan McGill, Andrew McGill, Cole McGill and Callie McGill; great-grandchildren, Madalynn, Peyton and Elijah; his mother, Pearl Beverlin of Muscatine; sisters, Shirley McGill of Rockford, IL, Linda (Bob) Zwolanek of Missouri, and Janet (John) Griffith of Letts; and a longtime friend, Fred Griece of Marion, SC.
He was preceded in death by his father, one brother in infancy, one grandson, Cody McGill, and one granddaughter, Angel McGill.
