Wanda Fausett, 82, of Aledo, died on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at the Mercer County Nursing Home, Aledo. Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at the Aledo United Methodist Church. Visitation is one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Aledo Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the United Methodist Church or the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter # 126.

Wanda was born January 25, 1930 in Greene Township, the daughter of Earl and Sylvia Anderson Thompson. She married Jim Fausett on August 8, 1954 in Aledo. He died on October 10, 2012.

Wanda retired as a bookkeeper and secretary for LaFever and Duncan Implement Company. She was a member of the Aledo United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter # 126. She enjoyed scrapbooking and collecting bells and salt and pepper shakers.

Those left to cherish her memory include her brothers, Claire (Marilyn) Thompson, Edgington, Earl “Bud” Thompson, Aledo, Carl (Betty) Thompson, Phoenix, Arizona; sisters, Verla Thompson, Aledo, Kathleen (Chuck) Leary, Little York, Eleanor “Curly” McAtee, Metropolis, Illinois; and brothers-in-law, Jerry (Joan) Fausett, and Rodney (Gloria) Fausett, both of Aledo, Hubert Brown, Rock Island; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim and sister-in-law, Nancy Brown.
