Winona Sue Perrine

1950 — 2024

Winona Sue Perrine, affectionately known as Sue, passed away Monday, January 15, 2024, at the age of 73, at Genesis Medical Center in Aledo, Illinois.

She was born on Monday, December 11, 1950, in New Boston, Illinois, the daughter of Alva and Bernice Ahef Lilly, Jr.

Sue was a cherished member of her community and a beacon of joy to all who knew her.

Sue's early years in New Boston were filled with the love and camaraderie of a large family. She was one of six siblings who shared an unbreakable bond throughout their lives. Sue's journey led her to love and marriage twice. She first married Lawrence Edgar "Ed" Brewer, Jr., and although their marriage ended in divorce, it blessed her with two beloved children, John (Chris) Brewer of Viola, IL, and Billie Jo (Craig) Seabloom of Orion, IL. Sue found love again with Mark Perrine, who became a cherished part of her life until his passing on October 16, 2008.

Sue's family was the centerpiece of her life. She was a proud step-mother to Anna Perrine, and a grandmother to Christopher and Anthoni Seabloom, Cassandra Woeber, Andrea Brewer, and D.J. Brewer. Her role expanded to include step-grandchildren Brandon, Caleb, and Logan, all of whom brought happiness and pride to her life.

Her brothers, Jim (Pat) Lilly of Indiana, Eugene (Kathy) Lilly of Muscatine, IA, John Lilly of Princeton, IL, and Tom (Tina Emerson) Lilly of Milan, IL, along with her sister, Joanne Dale of New Boston, will remember Sue dearly. Special nephews Tim (Ashley) Dale of New Boston, IL, and Jason (Sam) Dale of Aledo, IL, along with several other nieces and nephews, will carry fond memories of their aunt.

Sue retired from Admiral/Maytag in Galesburg, after 30 years of dedicated service. Her colleagues knew her as a hardworking and reliable team member.

Beyond her family and career, Sue enjoyed fishing, often found on the water, rod in hand, enjoying the serenity of nature. Boating was another passion, providing her with countless hours of relaxation and adventure. Sue also loved driving her golf cart, a pastime that brought her joy and a sense of freedom.

Sue's presence was a gift to those around her, and her absence will be deeply felt. Her special friend, Harvey Smith, along with all who had the pleasure of knowing Sue, will miss her spirited conversations, her laughter, and her ability to make any moment brighter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her husband, Mark Perrine, on October 16, 2008, with whom she shared many cherished moments.

Sue’s life will be honored by family and friends at Nichols Bewley Funeral and Cremation Services in Aledo. Visitation will be 11:00 am to 1:00pm Tuesday, January 23, with funeral services following at 1:00pm. Following the services, a funeral procession will take to her to the New Boston Cemetery for her final resting place.
