Bernice Manary

Bernice L. Manary, 87, of Aledo, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at her home.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 12, at Bewley Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Aledo. Burial will be in the Aledo Cemetery.

Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 12, at the funeral home.

She was born May 28, 1928, in Abingdon, Illinois, the daughter of Harley Leroy and LaVetta E. Daly Balmer. She married Dale M. Manary on August 16, 1946, in Milan, Illinois.

She had worked at Rockridge High School as a custodian, retiring in 1990.

She enjoyed flowers and loved her grandkids and her cat, Miss Kitty.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughters, Bonnie (John) Hansen of Milan, Tina Green of Gilbert, AZ, and Lisa (Chuck) Soseman of Aledo; son, Russell Manary of Washington State; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; her brother, Larry (Karen) Hartman of Aledo; and son-in-law, Brian Leffler of Aledo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four sons, Jerry Lee, Monty Carlo, Raymond Autumn, and Chester Dale; daughters, Connie Kay Hall and Vickie Leffler; brothers, Tex Balmer and Jack Hartman; sisters, Doris Crampton and Charlotte Maynard; and her beloved dog Sophie.
