Berniece I. Anell, 87, of Wataga, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at her home.

Graveside services will be at 12:00 PM Monday, November 4, at the Wataga Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 11:00 to 12:00 PM at the Congregational Church in Wataga. Nichols Life Tribute Funeral and Memorial Services, Muscatine, is caring for the arrangements.

Berniece Irene Williams was born September 30, 1926, in Wataga, Illinois, the daughter of Fred and Ruth Elaine Eckman Williams. She married Walter Anell on June 23, 1949 in Altona, Illinois.

She was a 1944 graduate of Wataga High School. Those left to honor her memory include her sons, Brent Anell of Burlington, Iowa, Craig Anell of Lafayette, Illinois and Mark (Deborah) Anell of Iuka, Kansas; six grandchildren, Travis Anell of Muscatine, Iowa, Darin Anell of Burlington, Iowa, Dawn (Cory) LaRose of Wataga, Illinois, Amber (Jason) Dickey of Geneseo, Illinois, Misti (Isaac) Marcantonio of McPherson, Kansas and Abby Anell of Burton, Kansas; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Walter in 2003, one sister, Elaine, and three brothers, Bill, Bob and Paul.
