Betty Lee

Betty S. Lee, 66, of Muscatine, formerly of Joy, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2013, at her home.

Memorial services will be 4:00 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2014 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Muscatine. Bewley Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Joy, is caring for the arrangements.

She was born December 23, 1947, in Rock Island, the daughter of Charles Edward “Ed” and Stella Marie Cooper Newswander. She married Charles Lee on July 4, 1992, in Aledo.

Betty was a home health care provider and cardiopulmonary technician. She had worked for the former Mercer County Hospital and as a private duty certified nurse’s aide.

She enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening and her pets.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Chuck; one brother, Leroy Newswander and his wife Dorothy of Aledo; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Harold; sister, Gladys and a nephew, Jimmie Newswander.
