Betty Jane Mcmanus

Betty Jane McManus, 85, of New Boston, IL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at Mercer Manor Rehabilitation in Aledo, IL. Born on August 24, 1938, in the quaint town of Oakville, IA, the daughter of Sam and Edith Leona Tisor Reiman. She married Michael James McManus on October 10, 1960, in Aledo, IL. Betty led a life full of love, hard work, and joy, leaving behind a legacy that will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Betty's early years in Oakville were marked by her love for the outdoors and the simple pleasures of life. This passion stayed with her throughout her life, finding expression in her gardening, meticulous tending of her flowers and yard. All were a testament to her hard work and dedication.

Prior to retirement, Betty had been employed as an Assembler at Keller Ladder Company. She was known for her diligence and attention to detail, qualities that endeared her to her colleagues and made her an invaluable asset to the company. Her work ethic was an inspiration to many, and her contributions to the organization will not be forgotten.

In addition to her love for the outdoors, Betty had a passion for reading and solving puzzles.

Betty's love for the water was another defining aspect of her life. She and her beloved husband, Michael, spent many happy hours on boat rides, enjoying the tranquility of the water and the beauty of the natural world. These moments, shared in the peace and quiet of nature, were some of their cherished memories.

Betty Jane McManus lived a life that was marked by her love for her family, her work, and the world around her. Her memory will be carried forward by those who loved her, including her husband Michael and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, and four sisters.
