Carol M. Gilbert, 73, of Joy, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Unity Point Health Trinity Rock Island.
Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, February 24, at Bewley Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Aledo.

She was born June 8, 1944, in Fort Madison, IA, the daughter of Raymond Carroll and Eva Eileen Blyith Cecil. She married James H. Gilbert on December 5, 1971, in Aledo.
She enjoyed fishing and sewing.
Those left to honor and cherish her memory include her daughter, Teresa Gilbert of Joy; son, James (Norma) Gilbert of Joy; five grandchildren, Tyler Gilbert, Justin Gilbert, Shawna Gilbert, Bryant Stokes and Mary Stokes; three great-grandchildren, Lexi, Nevaeh and Taylor; one brother, Charles Cecil of La Harpe, IL; and two sisters, Bonnie Fugate of Keokuk, IA and Rosemary (Herb) Steinmates of Monmouth, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, James in 2009.
