Charles Babcock

Charles William "Bill" Babcock, 70, of Muscatine, died Wednesday, October 15, 2003, at Riverbend Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Muscatine. He was born August 9, 1933, at Atalissa, Iowa, the son of Charley Raymond and Juda Gertrude Miller Babcock. He married Evelyn Marie Adkison, August 16, 1953, on the family farm in Wilton. He had worked as a rate clerk for various freight companies in the area prior to his retirement. He was a big Cubs fan and enjoyed gambling on the river boats. He is survived by three sons, Steve and Jim Babcock, both of Muscatine, and Doug Babcock of Liberty, MO.; three grandchildren, Alec, Andrew, Brandi; five great-grandchildren; and one sister Shirley Niles and her husband Gail of Wilton.
