Charlotte I. Banks , 75, of Aledo, died Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Mercer County Nursing Home, Aledo. Memorial services are 6 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church of Joy, 200 East Edwards Street, Joy, IL. Burial will be in the Germania Cemetery, Germania, Wisconsin at a later date. Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church, Joy. Bewley Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Aledo assisted the family with arrangements.
Charlotte was born February 2, 1937 in Geneva, IL., the daughter of Charles and Iris Nimrick Vaughn.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Joy, Mercer County Housing Authority Board of Commissioners, and Prayer Warrior. She was a friend to anyone that she met and will be missed by many. She retired from Mercer County Nursing Home. Charlotte was a great cook and baker. She loved her grandchildren, playing games and putting puzzles together. She was always helping others.
Survivors (and spouses) include her children, Rodney (Leesa) Banks, Rhonda (Lonnie) Newton and Patty (Fred) Carlson, all of Illinois, Scott Banks, Florida, Frank (Mary Beth) Banks, Michigan, Raymond Banks, Texas; sisters, Rose (Lowell) Winkler, South Dakota, Wanda (Walt) Alexander, Virginia, Jeanie (George) Weiss, Wisconsin, Ann Steiner, Washington, Nancy Bowker and Kay Robinson, both of Illinois; brothers, Robert “Bob” Vaughn, Illinois, Daniel Vaughn, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Glenn, Catie, Andy, Bekky, Leslie, Randee, Jared, John, Sheila, Cassandra, Julia, Becky; great-grandchildren, Hailey, Tyler, Kayla, Annah, Ryan, Payton, Mary Jo, Robbie and Frank. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Iris Vaughn, and sisters, Betty Gensch and Carol Sue Vaughn.
