Donnie E. Matthews, 65, of New Boston, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at his home

He was born November 20, 1960, in Aledo, IL, the son of Denver A., Sr. and Wanda L. Willits Matthews. He was self-employed as a mechanic for many years.

Donnie will be remembered not only for his skillful hands but also for his generous heart and the enjoyment he found in fishing, camping and riding motorcycles. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him including his children, Joshua D. Matthews of Muscatine, and Amber L. McClain of Centerville; brothers, Dennis Matthews and Denver Matthews, Jr., both of New Boston and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Larry, Denney, George and James; and sisters, Donna and Lucy.

Family and friends are invited to gather and share in a memorial service celebrating Donnie's life on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 11:00 am at the New Boston United Methodist Church. A time of food and fellowship will follow in the church hall.

Memorials may be left in honor of Donnie in care of Denver Matthews.
