Edward E. Hatfield, 88, of Muscatine, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014, at Lutheran Homes.
Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 2, at Muscatine Memorial Park. Military honors will be offered by the combined squads of the VFW Post #1565 and American Legion Post #27. A time of food and fellowship will follow the service at the American Legion Post #27.
Visitation will be 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday at Wesley United Methodist Church. Nichols Life Tribute Funeral and Memorial Services is caring for Ed's family and arrangements.

Ed was born June 13, 1925, the son of William Henry and Mabel Jane Moomey Hatfield. He married Shirley L. Randolph on May 27, 1948, in Burlington, IA.
He was a World War II veteran of the United States Army. He received the Purple Heart for injuries he received while a member of the 45th Infantry Division in the European Theater.
He worked as an automobile salesman with Henderson Chevrolet Olds for many years. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #304, American Legion Post #27 and VFW Post #1565.
Those left to honor his memory include his son, Jerry Jones of Muscatine; grandchildren, Angela Jones, Mike (Jamie) Jones and Rebecca (Chad) Zeck, all of Muscatine; great grandchildren, Zachary Jirak, Danielle Jones, Gabriel Jones, Cooper Zeck and Sawyer Zeck; brothers, Walter F. (Arline) Hatfield, Teddy L. (Ann) Hatfield and Thomas C. (Sharon) Hatfield, all of Muscatine; sisters, Genevieve McDaniel, Shirley Dieckman and Jane (Willie) Morgan all of Muscatine and Judith Petersen of Davenport; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Shirley, two brothers, William, Jr. (Willie) and Bob and one sister, Dorothy Beason.
