Elsie L. Stotler. 80, of Keithsburg, IL, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 7, 2026.

Elsie L. Campbell was born to James and Alberta (Tompkins) Campbell on a houseboat in Keithsburg on June 19, 1046.

She led by example with her selfless nature, nurturing heart, and quiet strength, everyone was special to her. Elsie was a loving mother, sister, and friend to all. She dedicated her life to caring for others by working in home healthcare and helping friends and family when needed. She was a fantastic cook and loved gardening, fishing, and camping. Anyone was welcome, and no one left hungry.

She is survived by her loving and grateful children: William Stotler, Jr. and wife Karen of Gladstone, IL, Dixie (Castle) Shewbirt of Keithsburg, IL, Daniel Stotler and wife Sheri of Burlington, IA, Bill Castle and wife Joanna of Blue Ridge, TX, Annette (Stotler) Adams and husband Robert of Oquawka, IL, Melissa (Castle) Knauff and husband Brian of Paris, TN, and Mindi (Stotler) Husband and her husband Billy of Gladstone, IL; along with many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Elsie also leaves behind her siblings, Steve Campbell of Keithsburg, IL, Jamie (Ted) Greer of Aledo, Bill (Diann) Campbell of Keithsburg, IL, Danny (Barb) Campbell of Hannibal, MO; Sue (Rolf) Mitchell of Sequim, WA, and half-brother, Bert Tompkins of Hannibal, MO; as well as many nieces and nephews who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Alberta Campbell; husband, William Stotler, Sr.; brother, David Campbell; partner, Ben Poole; former spouse, Gene Castle; and sons-in-law, Ray Shewbirt and Doug Bruce.

Following her wishes, Elsie will be cremated, with her ashes buried in Oquawka, IL. with her husband.

In honor of her life, friends and family are invited to a visitation at the First Christian Church in Keithsburg, IL, on Friday, July 17th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and to share memories on her Memorial Tribute page at www.NicholsBewley.com. Nichols Bewley Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Aledo, IL is caring for Elsie and her family.

Elsie will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all, and her spirit will live on in anyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
