Emily Greer, 93, of Aledo, died on Thursday, July 28, 2011, at Mercer County Hospital, Aledo.
Per her wishes, graveside services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Aledo Cemetery. There is no visitation. Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church, Aledo.
Emily was born Jan. 11, 1918, in Aledo, the daughter of Fred and Leona Balmer Riddell. She married Willis Greer on July 9, 1938, in St. Louis, Mo. He died Nov. 10, 2005.
Emily was employed at Betty Lou's Florist. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Aledo, and a 50-year member of the Buffalo Prairie Eastern Star No. 516. She enjoyed crocheting, bingo and playing cards.
Survivors (and spouses) include her daughter, Karel (Robert) Smith, Orion; grandchildren, Tammy Smith, Moline, Stephanie (Jeremy) Snowden, Bourbonnais, Ill., and Amber (David) Parry, Lakewood Ranch, Fla. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willis; and brother, Leonard Riddell.
