Erma Nadine Kopp, 95, a long time resident of Muscatine, died Saturday, January 21, 2006, at Lutheran Homes. She was born September 11, 1910, at Lockridge Township, Jefferson County, Iowa, the fifth of six children born to S. Fred and Lorena Lyon Dallner. She was a graduate of Fairfield High School. Following high school, Erma came to Muscatine seeking employment. She worked as a bookkeeper for the various Norman Baker businesses then active. When those businesses relocated to Arkansas, Erma followed and lived in Eureka Springs for several years. When the Baker businesses next moved to Mexico, she returned to Muscatine where she worked for a number of years at the Red Paint Store. Then, for over 25 years she worked as a bookkeeper for Rhonda Button Company and Schmarje Tool Company. She married Philip F. Kopp on October 26, 1940, in Davenport, Iowa. He preceded her in death in January, 1995. She enjoyed card playing, especially bridge, where she was a member or alternate in several groups. She also enjoyed gardening and travel. Erma was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and belonged to a number of its organizations. She is survived by her son, Frederick P. Kopp and daughter-in-law Sharon C. of Rock Island; one grandson, Philip F. Kopp of Iowa City; one granddaughter Elaine M. Watson and her husband Matthew of Coralville; twin great-granddaughters Kaitlin and Charlotte Watson; one sister Eileen Masden of Fairfield; and several nieces and nephews.
