Florence E. Goveia, 89, of Aledo, formerly of Rock Island and Silvis, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at Aledo Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Bewley Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Aledo, is caring for the arrangements.

She was born January 9, 1925, the daughter of Howard and Sally Swanson Bates. She married Edward Goveia in 1950, in Chicago.
She was an office manager for many years.
She was always doing something for somebody else. She was the glue that held the family together.
Those left to honor her memory include two sons, Thomas (Tamra) Goveia of Milan and William (Tracy) Goveia of Moline; one daughter, Patricia (Don) Cummings of Blairsville, GA; grandchildren, Michael and Mitchell Goveia, Joseph, Matthew and Andrea Goveia, Amy and Emily Cummings; and one great grandson, Cameron Goveia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward in 1999, and one sister, Lorraine.
