Fred E. Franklin

Fred E. Franklin, 74, of Muscatine, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at Trinity Rock Island.

Services will be 6:00 pm Monday, March 10, at Walnut Park Baptist Church 215 Colorado St. Burial will be private at Muscatine Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church. Jeffrey S. Nichols Life Tribute Funeral and Memorial Services, Muscatine, is caring for the arrangements.

He was born July 21, 1939, in Muscatine, the son of Elmer Ellsworth and Viola Marie Frieden Franklin.

He had worked in the Maintenance Department at Grain Processing Corporation for many years.

He loved spending time at Senior Resources, building puzzles, watching pro wrestling and going for walks downtown.

Those left to honor his memory include one sister, Alberta Yordt of Muscatine; nieces, Karen Franklin of Muscatine, and Alice Bixby of Columbus City; one nephew, Brent Reddick of Muscatine; great-niece Glenda Bixby and her children, Trinity and Makala of Washington; great nephew, Jeremy Flores, his fiancé Jessica Martin and his children, Kiera, Drake and Kendra of Muscatine; several aunts and uncles; and cousin, Ernest Reddick of Muscatine.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
