Fred Franks

Fredrick Eugene Franks, 62, of Nichols, passed away suddenly Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at Unity Hospital. He was born March 1, 1944, at Phoenix, Arizona, the eldest son of Fredrick, Sr. and Ruby Franks. He married Marie E. Terry on June 25, 2005, in Muscatine. He most enjoyed spending time with his dad his boys no matter if they were fishing, mushroom hunting or playing a game of cards. He was an avid pool player and participated in many tournaments in the surrounding area. Fred liked to travel and camp, many good times were had with friends and family sitting around a campfire. He also had a great talent for making things work. He could figure out any motor or any household project. He was a hard worker. He will be so very missed by his wife, Marie; sons, Guy Franks and fiancé Robin of West Branch, Dan Franks and wife Gidget of Nichols, Dean Franks and wife Tiffany of Muscatine; daughter Kelli Browning and husband Randy of Muscatine; twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; his parents, Fred, Sr. and Ruby Franks of Fruitland; brother, Alan Franks and wife Lori along with nephews Daniel, Joshua and niece, Aliesha Franks, all of Brookings, Oregon; and many cousins to whom he was very close.
