Gary I. Adams

Gary I. Adams, 75, of New Boston, IL, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2022, at his home.

Graveside services, with Military Rites, will be 10:00 AM Friday, December 16, at the Aledo Cemetery. Nichols Bewley Funeral and Cremation Services is caring for Gary's family and arrangements.

Gary Ira Adams was born June 17, 1947, in Reynolds, IL, the son of Ira and Lois Diehl Adams. He married Elaine Johnson on March 14, 1969, in Milan, IL. They were later divorced.

Gary had worked for the Eagle Foods Warehouse in Milan for many years prior to retirement. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 1971 Eliza, IL, the Gold Wing Association and the Patriot Guard. Gary was an avid tinkerer and enjoyed fixing anything from small engines to clocks. He was very much an outdoorsman and enjoyed a variety of activities such as woodworking, hunting, fishing, black powder shooting, playing cards and riding his motorcycle.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his daughter, Mary (Mark) Slusser of Milan, IL; two grandchildren, Brook Slusser and Kaitlyn Slusser, both at home; one sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Cliff Anderson, Sr. of Joy, IL; and one nephew and his wife, Cliff and Jennifer Anderson, Jr.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
