Gordon D. Morse

Gordon David Morse, 72, of Moline, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2015, at his step-daughter's home.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 21, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Moline. Burial will be in the Rock Island Arsenal National Cemetery.

Gordon was born April 21, 1943, in Ottumwa, Iowa, the son of Gordon and Deleth Berrier Morse. He was raised by Deleth and Charles Leonard. He married Bonnie Slycord and Karen Scott. They both preceded him in death. He later married Janet Brock Cassidy in 1984. She passed away on January 24, 2009.

He was a veteran of United States Army and had worked as a machinist for John Deere Company.

Those left to honor his memory include his children, Mark Turner of Ottumwa, IA, Gordon David Morse II of Davenport, Ia, Theresa Morse, and Heather (Keith) Morse of Rock Island; six step-children including Brandy Emo, who was also his care-giver; nine grandchildren; eleven step-grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; seventeen step-great grandchildren; his father, Charles Leonard of Ottumwa, Ia; brothers, Brian Leonard of Ottumwa, Ia, Danny (Connie) Leonard of Ottumwa, Ia; sisters, Melinda (Robert) Fisher of Orion, Il and Pam (Mike) Bean of Ottumwa, Ia.

He was preceded in death by three wives, his mother, his father Gordon Morse, one grandson and one great grandson.
