Hector Ishmael Lopez, 34, of Corning, formerly of Muscatine, died Wednesday, May 24, 2006, at his home. He was born February 14, 1972, at Muscatine, the son of Ismael Herrera and Blanca Estela Ortiz Lopez. He graduated from Louisa-Muscatine High School in 1990 and attended St. Ambrose College in Davenport, Iowa. He married Mary Miller on October 26, 1998, in Muscatine, Iowa. He was a United States Army veteran having served in the Ranger Division in Iraq following Desert Storm. Hector worked for Frontier Communications as a telephone technician and DSL installer and a guide for hunters in Adams and Taylor County. Hunting was his passion. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Corning, and was an avid weight lifter. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lopez of Corning; daughters, Patience, Nina and Piper Lopez of Corning and Cheyenne Lopez of Wilton; his parents, Ismael & Blanca Lopez of Muscatine; mother-in-law, Laura Marquez of Muscatine; father-in-law, Donald Miller of Muscatine; one brother, Simon Lopez and wife Teresa of Muscatine; two nieces, Gabriella and Rayne; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Juan F. and Armandina Lopez and maternal grandparents, Vivian and Juanita Ortiz.
