Janet La Von Cooney Martin, 70, of Muscatine, died Tuesday, January 24, 2006, at the Muscatine Care Center.
She was born September 24, 1935, at Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Sidney and Mildred Seal Cooney.
She was a graduate of Muscatine High School.
She enjoyed playing cards and was a huge fan of the Statler Brothers. She loved going on road trips with her buddy, Pat.
She will be missed by her son, Sidney Martin and his wife Lori of Muscatine; daughters Trina Curtis and husband Jim and Lori Buster and husband Kevin, all of Muscatine; two granddaughters Janelle Wendt and her husband Travis and Sara Martin, all of Muscatine; great-grandchildren Jocelyn and Carson Wendt; brothers Marvin Cooney of Muscatine and Darrel Cooney of Moline; sister Marilyn Reese of Davenport and a dear friend, Pat Bean of Muscatine.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Dale and two brothers, Frank and Keith.
