Jean Carolyn Larson

Jean Larson, 88, of Aledo, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2015 at her residence. An open house will be 3 – 7 p.m. Thursday, February 12, 2015 at 305 SW 12th Street, Aledo. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Garden West Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Jean Larson memorial fund. Bewley Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Aledo assisted the family with arrangements.

Jean was born May 25, 1926 in Salem, Massachusetts, the daughter of William and Gladys Evelyn Murray MacPherson. She married Clifford Larson in Chicago on June 21, 1945. He died on February 10, 1991.

She worked as a nursing assistant at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital and as a dental assistant for Dr. Higgins. She was a member of the College Avenue Presbyterian Church, Aledo and First Congregational Church of Elmhurst, Illinois. She enjoyed her weekly bible study with the Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Mrs. Larson loved to sing and loved music. She loved her summer cottage in Prince Edward Island, Canada. She loved to write poems and funny limericks.

Survivors include her children, Karen (David) Lejman, Aledo and Donald (Betsy) Larson, Davenport, Florida; grandchildren, Ian (Marissa), Ryan (Kate), Emma, Flynn, Christopher (Destiny), and David Larson, Dylan Hornund and Jonathan Lejman; and great-grandchildren, Sophia, Christina, Jaxson, Desire and Eli Larson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons, David and Bruce and brother, Donald MacPherson.
