Joshua Scott Lewis, 35, of Muscatine, passed away Saturday, May 22, 2021, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, after a brief illness.
He was born the son of Candi Rhodes on December 27, 1985, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, a full eight minutes before his twin sister. Those minutes were important to him. He grew up in and around the Muscatine area and attended Muscatine High School.
He enjoyed being outdoors. He loved fishing, camping, boating and riding his side-by-side. He worked a variety of jobs, always working with his hands. He did roofing, concrete, carpentry, and all types of construction work. He was very proud of his son, Nolan, and cherished every moment they spent together.
He is survived by his son, Nolan Scott Lewis of Muscatine; his mother, Candi Rhodes of Muscatine; his step-father, Scott Rhodes of Blue Grass: his sisters Charity Moulds of Davenport and Lacy Lewis of Hills, IA; step-brother Robert Rhodes; nephews, Lex, Lincoln, and Kaleb; nieces, Jade and Harper; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He loved his son’s mother, Danielle Terry-Dahl very much and remained close to her parents.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Beatrice Morse, and his great-grandmother, Mildred Deahr.
Cremation rites are being accorded with a celebration of his life to be held at a later date.
