Judith S. Norwood, 64, of Muscatine, died Monday, April 14, 2008, at the University Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 18, 2008, at Hillcrest Baptist Church. Casketbearers are Tim Stallings, William Cassidy, Jr., Roger Gann, Charles Mosley, Clyde Nott and Toby Strause. Honorary casket bearers are Bill Ricklefs, Lonnie Clester, Raymond Smith and Stacy Shoppa. Burial will be at the Island Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2008, at the church. Memorials may be made to the Judith Norwood Memorial Fund. Jeffrey S. Nichols Chapel Hill Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements. Judy was born January 25, 1944, in Muscatine, the daughter of Willard Irvin and Effie Mildred Moore Beverlin. She married Emmett J. Norwood on May 11, 1969, in Rock Island, Ill. She was a homemaker. She had been employed as a quality control inspector for Thatcher Plastics until their closing. She also had worked at McKee Button Co. She loved her grandchildren and following their many activities. She enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, camping and gambling. In her words, she was “a pretty good shot”. She loved the Christmas and Easter holidays. She always went out of her way to make them extra special. She will be lovingly missed by her husband, Emmett; sons, William Cassidy, Jr. and fiancé, Gina Conaway and Kenneth W. Cassidy all of Muscatine; daughters, Cindy Cassidy of Muscatine, Christine Swanson and husband, Brian of Illinois City, Illinois, and Carlene Norwood of Muscatine; eight grandchildren, Jeremiah Cassidy of Germany, Chassity Cassidy, Andrea Cassidy, Skylan Howerton, Kayla Swanson, Jenna Swanson, Carleigh Norwood and Ryan Smith; five great-grandchildren, Haley Hake, Colten Hake, Gavin Cassidy, Haley Cassidy and Vinnie Cassidy; one brother, James Moore of Muscatine; one sister, Linda Stallings and husband, Tim of Rock Island; uncle, Harley Turner of Muscatine; and many lifelong special friends.
