Kenneth L. Olson, 80, of Muscatine, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2012, at Trinity - Muscatine.

Kenneth was born June 22, 1932, in Muscatine, the son of Edwin H. and Ione Clark Olson. He married Carol L. West on August, 6, 1954, in Muscatine.

He had retired as a heavy equipment operator for J.M. Foster.

Kenneth was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in active duty from March 28, 1952 to March 6, 1954. He was also a member of the American Legion.

Kenneth enjoyed trips to Branson, MO, and loved taking his dog, Skippy, for car rides.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Carol; daughters, Penny Staats, Cindy Harris and Shawn (William) Walker; grandchildren, Zachariah and Jeremiah Walker, Allen, Angie and Amy Staats, and Mike, Mark and Missy Harris; many great and great-great grandchildren; one brother, Donald (Maggie) Olson; and one sister, Joyce (William) Street.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a granddaughter, Tracy Harris.
