Linda L. Zachert

Linda L. Zachert, 75, of Aledo, passed away Saturday, August 18, 2018, at Unity Point Health Trinity – Rock Island, following a well fought battle to recover from a stroke.
A Memorial Luncheon will be Saturday, September 8, from Noon to 3:00 pm at the Aledo VFW.
The VFW Auxiliary will hold their Memorial Service at 2:00 pm. Her family would love for friends to come share their favorite memories of Linda with them. Bewley Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Aledo, is caring for Linda’s family and arrangements.

Linda was born January 21, 1943, in Long Beach, CA, the daughter of Stuart Eugene and Miriam Jean Parks Campbell. She grew up in Whittier, CA and moved to Illinois in 1970.
She was a bank administrator while living in California. She also worked for Sentry Insurance as an insurance adjustor. Even in retirement, she couldn’t see herself just sitting around in a rocking chair and was promptly hired by Mercer County Sheriff’s Department as a part-time clerical assistant in 2009. She continued in that position until 2018.
She enjoyed living her life to the fullest and loved her family more than words can say. She was always a cheerful person who loved nothing more than taking care of those she loved. She also enjoyed volunteering at the VFW.
Our hearts broke when she passed. Linda will be greatly missed and forever loved in our hearts.
Those left to honor and cherish her memory include her daughter, Shelly Zachert of Aledo; son, Daryl Zachert of Clinton, IA; granddaughter, Madison Zachert; sister, Cathy Catlett of Sherrills Ford, NC; nieces, Sheri Stock and Shandra Seim; nephews, John Contant, Brady Stock and Corey Stock; numerous cousins; and her beloved cat, Spice, in whom she found great joy and companionship.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
