Marilyn Joann Hoffman

Marilyn Joann Hoffman, 79, of Monmouth, formerly of Burgess, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2015, at Legacy Estates in Monmouth.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, at Bewley Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Aledo. Burial will be in the Viola Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post in Viola. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.bewleyfuneralhome.com.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, at the funeral home.

She was born December 16, 1935, in New Boston, IL, the daughter of Floyd and Letha Verle Gilbert Weikert. She married William H. Hoffman, Sr. in Moline, IL on February 16, 1980.

She had worked at Mercer County Hospital, Aledo Health and Rehabilitation, Malco Industries in Rock Island and was a Cook at Oakview Country Club in Aledo.

She was a member of the Ladies Auxillary of the American Legion in Viola. She enjoyed embroidering and working in her yard.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband William H. Hoffman, Sr., of Monmouth; children Cynthia Mechling of Buda, IL, Peggy Morris of Rock Island, Guy Morris of Monmouth, Mitchell Morris of Buda, IL, and Ronald Morris of Des Moines, IA; step-children, Kathleen Heim of Rock Island, Daniel L. Hoffman of Orion and William H. Hoffman, Jr. of East Moline; fourteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren; one brother, Ronnie Weikert of Florida; and special friend, Virginia Morris of Bradford, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Allen Morris in 1974.
