Marvin A. Craddock, 93, of Muscatine, died Wednesday, November 8, 2006, at Unity Hospital in Muscatine. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, Nov. 13, at the New Hope United Methodist Church. Burial with military rites by the Veteran of Foreign Wars and American Legion Combined Squad will be at the Island Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, at the Jeffrey S. Nichols Chapel Hill Funeral Home and Crematory 114 West Fourth St. Memorials may be made to the New Hope United Methodist Church. Online condolences may be left for the Craddock family at: www.nicholschapelhill.com. He was born February 6, 1913, in Muscatine, the son of Delmer and Ethel Worst Craddock. He graduated from Muscatine High School in 1934. He served in the U.S. Army from January 1942 to November 1945. He married Elba Ross Ward on August 1, 1947, in Muscatine. He retired from the Rock Island Arsenal in 1975, after 26 years of employment. Following retirement he drove substitute school bus for the Muscatine Community School District. He also helped Harold Riggs of Riggs and Ross Transfer on moving jobs for many years. He was a faithful member of New Hope United Methodist Church, where he was Head Usher for many years. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge, VFW, American Legion and the Good Sam's Camping Club. He loved to camp and socialize with everyone especially those who gathered at Hy Vee for coffee. He remained active up until the very end. He is survived by two daughters, Pam Jackman and husband Doug and Marilyn McKee and husband Harry, all of Muscatine; grandchildren, Paul Hagist of Muscatine, Jill Beaty and husband Keith of Graham, Texas, Bret McKee and wife Deborah of Fort Collins, Colorado; great-grandchildren, Dalton Hagist of Muscatine, Ireland and Abbi Beaty of Graham, Texas, and Jordan and Evan McKee of Fort Collins, Colorado.
