Michael Dennis "Mickey" Wingerter, 70, of Muscatine, passed away late Friday, September 23, 2005, at his home. Known as Mickey to some and Mike to others, he was born December 11, 1934, at Muscatine, the son of Harold Frederick and Viola J. Hill Wingerter. He was a graduate of St. Mary High School. He married Lucille J. Perkins on April 2, 1960, at Cambridge, Illinois. He retired in December 1996, following eleven years of service at Grain Processing Corporation. Prior to working for G.P.C. he was employed as a bricklayer and cement mason for 35 years. He was also a private pilot. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod and the Muscatine Power Boat Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing in the summer and winter, gardening, and camping. He loved his family and being out in nature. He loved dancing to country music and playing the guitar. He loved life. He will be missed by his wife, Lucille; sons, David and wife Sherry and Daniel and companion Kathy all of Muscatine; six grandchildren, Willie Wingerter, Danny Wingerter, Paul Wingerter, Shawn Phillips, Chris Skidmore and Amy Skidmore; three great-grandchildren; brothers Douglas Wingerter and companion Beverly of Davenport and John Wingerter and wife Sandy of Muscatine; and sister, Romona Froehner of Cedar Falls. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Dennis E. Wingerter, two brothers, Harold and Bernard and one sister-in-law, Vivian WIngerter.
