Ogle S. "Terp" Terpenning, 86, of Muscatine, died Friday, October 30, 2009, at Carrington Place in Muscatine. Private interment will be at Rock Island Arsenal National Cemetery. He was born March 28, 1923, in Alton, Ill., the son of Charles and Minnie Irvin Terpenning. He married Virginia C. Irvin on March 28, 1946, in Alton, Ill. He had worked as a Boiler Maker prior to retirement. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He was a member of the American Legion, V.F.W. and the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed fishing in his younger years. He is survived by sons, Philip of Marshalltown and Dan of Fairport; four grandchildren, Kimberly, Charles, Jason and Jessica Terpenning; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife in 2001, daughter-in-law Julie in 2000 and one great-grandson Cody. © 2009 ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.
