Otis Hindbaugh

Otis Lee Hindbaugh, Sr., 72, of Muscatine, died Wednesday, August 9, 2006, at his home. He was born October 25, 1933, at Wapello, IA., the son of Ford Harrison and Mary Eunice Griffith Hindbaugh, Sr. He married Mary Elizabeth Hazelwood on November 2, 1956, in Muscatine. He retired as a heavy equipment operator. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Korean. He was a seargant with the Ranger Special Forces Green Beray attached to the 82nd Division of the 101st Airborne Screaming Eagles. He was a member of the N.R.A and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1565. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, motorcycles, fast cars, working on and building monster trucks, playing volley ball and horse shoes and working with the crew at Acme Materials Company. But, most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a very giving person and sponsored and supported many organizations and causes. He is survived by his wife of fifty years, sons, Jerry Hindbaugh and wife Stephanie of New Boston, Ill. and Otis L. Hindbaugh, Jr. and wife Shawne of Muscatine; daughters Terry Hindbaugh of Muscatine, Vickie Meerdink of Muscatine and Julie Andreas of Muscatine; eight grandchildren, Jacob White, Zachary Meerdink, Matthew Lower, Sondra Phelps, Dustin Andreas, Benjamin Hindbaugh, Mikhala Meerdink and Carly Hindbaugh; three great-grandchildren, Austin and Brock Meerdink and Kyler Ziegenhorn; one brohter, Ford Hindbaugh, Jr. of Spokane, WA.; one sister, Lena Clodfielder of Moscow; and a son-in-law, Lyle Andreas of Muscatine.
