Pearl Martin, 89, of Muscatine, died Thursday, December 23, 2004, at Lutheran Homes. She was born October 25, 1915 at Moscow, Iowa, the daughter of Harry Way and Jennie Pearl Catterson Atkins, Sr. She married Harold Martin October 2, 1934, at Davenport. She was most recently a homemaker but had provided child care for many years. She taught Sunday School for 48 years and was active with Mission Aide. She loved to make quilts and to share her creations with others. She cherished Christmas and made it special for everyone she knew. She is survived by three sons, Harry and his wife Claudette of Moscow, H. Frank and his wife Claire of Muscatine and Eugene and his wife Betty of Pinkard, AL.; one daughter Jennie Wilson and her husband Vernon, Sr. of Muscatine; 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Harry Way Atkins, Jr. of Cottonwood, Ariz.; one sister Martha Emmert of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2002, daughter and son-in-law Martha and Mike Hute in 1966 and two brothers, Paul and Larry.
