Richard "Dean" Blanchard, 84, of Muscatine, passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at Trinity Rock Island.
Cremation rites are being facilitated by Nichols Life Tribute Funeral and Cremation Services, Muscatine. Per his wishes, there will be no public visitation or services. Private inurnment will be held at a later date.

Dean was born June 1, 1930, in Wapello, Iowa. He had worked for the former Richards Packing.
Those left to honor his memory include two sisters, Marie Stalkfleet of West Liberty and Irene Mowl of Muscatine; and two nephews, Terry Mowl and Gary Mowl both of Muscatine.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, James and Robert Blanchard, sisters, Betty Strong, Josephine Kisner and Myrtle Ravenscraft, and one half brother, William "Bill" Herrick.
