Richard H. Stammer, 98, of Wilton, formerly of Muscatine, passed away Monday, May 29, 2023, at the Wilton Care Center.
Private interment, with military honors will be at the Rock Island Arsenal National Cemetery.

Richard Harry Stammer was born March 11, 1925, the son of Harry Richard and Beatrice Swank Stammer. He married Marilyn Phyllis Gochanour on July 5, 1953, in Muscatine.
Richard was a United States Army World War II veteran having attained the rank of Sergeant. He served from 1943 to 1945, in Italy.
He was a factory line worker at Johns Manville prior to retirement.
Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his sons, Jerry (Dianna) Stammer of Muscatine, Kevin Stammer of Wilton, Clay Stammer of Cedar Rapids, and Todd (Stephanie) Stammer of Muscatine; grandchildren, Dwayne Stammer, Rick Stammer, Carrie Stammer, Elise Hepker and Lauren Petty; and ten great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marilyn; brother Robert; and one grandson, Jess.
