Ronald E. "Ron" Lilly, affectionately known as "Papa Ron", a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at his home in Viola, Illinois.

Ron was born on Monday, September 19, 1955, in New Boston, Illinois, the son of Elmer Lloyd and Bernice Deanon Lilly, Sr. He married Constance D. Park on September 15, 2014, in Aledo, IL. Ron's journey through life was marked by his unwavering dedication to his family, his exceptional work ethic, and his remarkable ability to fix anything that came his way.

Ron spent 30 years as an assemblyman for Sears Seating in Davenport, IA, where he was not only respected for his skills but also for his friendly demeanor and willingness to lend a helping hand. His colleagues remember him as a man who could always be counted on.

Outside of work, Ron was a man of many interests. He had a passion for the outdoors, often found with a fishing pole in hand, enjoying the serenity of nature. His love for fishing was only matched by his love for a cold Busch Lite, and spending time with his beloved family and friends. Ron was also a talented handyman, he was able to fix anything from automobiles to woodworking. His hands were rarely still, as he was always tinkering, building, or fixing something around the house.

Ron's legacy is carried on by his devoted wife, Connie, and their loving children: Adam Lilly of Viola, Travis (Samantha) Lilly of Aledo, Ryan Lilly of Viola, Lisa (Brian) Wulf of Le Claire, IA, and Tina (Jason) Blackwelder of Elk Creek, MO. He was a proud grandfather to Maeson, Karson, Blaine, Jameson, Kaison, Ryan, Ashley, Jake, Whitney, Heath, and Hayley, and he cherished every moment spent with them. His great-grandson, Layne, brought him immense joy and pride.

Ron is also survived by his siblings, who shared in his life's journey: Jesse (Linda) Tompkins of Viola, Gary (Marcia) Lilly of Kankakee, Elmer (Denise) Lilly, Jr. of Andover, Mary Daniels of Aledo, and Laura (Bill) Anderson of Aledo. Each of them holds dear the memories and moments that they shared with Ron throughout the years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Janie Mayfield, who have welcomed him home.

Those who knew Ron will remember him as the epitome of a handy and friendly man. His ability to solve problems and his readiness to assist others were traits that defined his character. He was a man who made a lasting impression on everyone he met, and his absence will be deeply felt by all.

As we say farewell to Ronald E. Lilly, we celebrate a life well-lived, a man well-loved, and a legacy that will continue to inspire. Ron's spirit, characterized by his warmth and generosity, will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. The memories he created, the lives he touched, and the love he shared will endure forever.

In honor of Ron's life, a Celebration of Life to commemorate his journey and to offer an opportunity for friends and family to gather will be announced at a later date. Ron's story is one of love, laughter, and the simple joys of life—a story that will be told and retold by those who loved him, ensuring that his memory will never fade.
