Ruth F. Yerington

Ruth F. Yerington, 98, of Muscatine, passed away Friday, January 28, 2022, at Unity Point Health Trinity Muscatine.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 10, at Walnut Park Baptist Church. Nichols Bewley Funeral and Cremation Services is caring for Ruth's family and arrangements.

Ruth was born September 12, 1923, in Grandview, IA, the daughter of Otto Ernst and Lulu Fern Walter Grothe. She married Howard A. Yerington on April 18, 1942, in Kahoka, MO.

Ruth loved cats, playing the organ, computer games and her family and friends. She worked until she was 86 years young. Prior to retirement, she was the "Full Breakfast" cook at Cantebury Inn in Muscatine.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory include her daughters, Darla Meyer, Karen Jeambey and Lisa (David) Cunningham, all of Muscatine; several grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Lue Burritt of Colorado.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard; daughter, Jerri Day in 1981; three brothers, Walter Grothe, Paul Grothe, and one in infancy; two sisters, Elaine Miller and Edna Saue; great grandson, Timothy Hill and one son-in-law, Del Meyer.
