Stephen W. Elder, 49, of Atalissa, died Thursday, January 11, 2007, at his home. He was born December 15, 1957, at Muscatine, the son of Richard D. and Madeline J. Spray Elder. He had worked as a mechanic for M and M Ford for many years. He loved to fish and work on old cars. He is survived by his mother, Madelyn Elder of Muscatine; and two half-brothers, Randall Roach, and his wife Dorothy, of Cedar Rapids and Roger Bain of Nevada, Missouri.
