Stephen G. Frew, 74, of Aledo, formerly of Sherrard, passed away Friday, May 26, 2023, at his home.
A private Celebration of Life is being planned. Nichols Bewley Funeral and Cremation Services is caring for Stephen's family and arrangements.
Stephen Guy Frew was born December 3, 1948, in Moline, IL, the son of Robert George and Melba Aletta Jean Frew.
He was a United States Army veteran having served during Vietnam. He was a member of the VFW Post No. 1571 and American Legion Post No. 121.
Stephen was a welder at Case/IH prior to retirement. He was also a past Mayor of Sherrard.
He loved politics, debating, riding his bike, gardening and caring for his yard. He was very patriotic and also loved American history.
Survivors include his mother, Melba Frew of Sherrard; brothers, Gregory, James and David, all of Sherrard; sister, Julie Dean of Viola; a special niece and her husband, Stephanie and Brad Williams of Aledo; and he was also very proud of and fond of his other seven nieces, three nephews, four great-nieces, and ten great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1986.
