Tom Margetich
November 3, 1918 — July 8, 2014
Tom Margetich, 95, of Aledo, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at Genesis Senior Living, Aledo.
Services are 11:00 AM Thursday, July 10, 2014, at Bewley Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Aledo. Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery with military honors by Aledo American Legion Post No. 121.
Visitation will be 10:30 AM until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
Tom was born November 3, 1918, at Cincinnati, Iowa, the son of Joseph and Mary Zemo Margetich. He married Willie Gladys Hobbs Weston on October 3, 1959, in Moline, Illinois.
He was a US Army veteran of World War II. He retired in 1978, as a tool and die maker with Second Engineering Company in Moline, Illinois.
Those left to honor his memory include one son, Paul (Billie Jo) Patterson of Buckeye, Arizona, daughters Constance (Jerry) Berg of Birch Run, Michigan, and Linda Abrams of East Moline; 13 grandchildren including, granddaughter, Teresa (David) Ortberg of Aledo and grandsons, Jerry Berg and David Berg; and 14 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Sally Weston, son-in-law Don Abrams, sister Kathryn Dhooge and her husband Cyril and brother Joseph Margetich and his wife Emily.
