Velma Mae Lee, 93, of Columbus Junction passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Saturday, March 10, 2010 at Colonial Manor. She was born August 6, 1916 in Bagley, the daughter of George Clyde and Iva Mae Stratton Tisor. She married A.M. Lee August 16, 1940, in Columbus Junction. She had worked as a cook for the Columbus Community Schools and Harold’s Restaurant prior to retirement. Those left to honor her memory include sons, Arnold “Butch” Lee and wife Bonnie of Muscatine, Richard “Rick” Lee and wife Cindy of Muscatine, and Darrell “Wayne” Lee of Toolsboro; daughters Carolyn Zellmer of Muscatine and Janet Bell and husband Michael of Le Claire; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and sisters Alta Adams of Spokane, WA and Barbara Bowen of Muscatine. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Wesley, Lesley, Lawrence, Dean, Leonard, Clifford and Lester; son-in-law Don Zellmer; sister Telma Conway; grandson Jerry Zellmer; great granddaughter Stacie Bean and great-great granddaughter Kenda Metzger. © 2010 ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.
