Walter Max Schellenberg, 80, of Aledo, IL, died Fri., Mar. 18, 2016, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.
Mass of Resurrection will be 10:00 a.m. Wed. Mar. 23, at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Aledo. Burial will be in the Aledo Cemetery. Bewley Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Aledo, is caring for the arrangements.

Walt was born July 29, 1935, in Davenport, IA, the son of William Henry and Sophie Schleffer Schellenberg.
He was a sheet metal worker. He was past president of the Mercer County Senior Center, past president of the Scott County Foster Prarents Association and was a Cub and Boy Scout leader. Walt enjoyed NASCAR, especially, #24.
Those left to honor his memory include wife, Doris; children, Mike (Patty) Schellenberg of Dixon, Ia, Pam (Lyle) Cole and Jo (Brad) VanderTuig, both of Walcott, IA, and Phil (Susie) Schellenberg of New London, IA; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister.
